Woke up at 7:30, late again.
Took an hour plus long bike ride to barber park and back,
& listened to Kali Uchis's new album, Red Moon in Venus.
Practiced piano for 45 minutes,
went to the park and did meditation and yoga, 20 minutes each,
and then just laid there for 20 minutes.
I was there for 1 hr and 45 minutes though,
so I'm not sure where the other 45 minutes went.
Came back home and worked on my flute solo for 2 hours.
It's 2 minutes in length total.
but it's all scrambled.
No one says you have to compose start to finish,
but this one's giving me trouble.
I Love contemporary solo instrumental works;
Elliot Carter, Luciano Berio etc. -
but I'm always having difficulty writing any.
Thats how I know I should be trying though,
it's just outside of my comfort zone,
which is necessary for growth.
Composing without lessons is strange,
and resources are scarce for this kind of topic.
My goal for tomorrow in addition to;
practice,
composition,
and the daily routine,
- is to record myself conducting Psalm 23,
so that I can record the audio this coming week.
I'm trying to focus on maintaining my schedule but this month (July so far) has been rough. The change started with the insertion of running, and even though I'm going to bed earlier again I cant manage to wake up at 4:30am.
Perhaps a full return to what was working is in order;
Up at 4:30
Write for ten
Meditate for 20
Yoga for 20
Coffee and reading 3 James Clear Articles,
Then immediately start composing for a few hours, 7-10am,
And a bike ride (run) in the sun for an hour while listening to an album
I'm still convinced I need to be running,
because it hates me,
and I need to conquer it.
Lunch/Breakfast (It's the same for me)
practice piano for an hour
compose for a few hours more
then my evening routine;

Basic self care
Read at 7:30pm
try to sleep at 8:30pm
Repeat until I'm UNDENIABLE.
All in all, this is how I feel today.
See you tomorrow.
