366 Days of Making Art

Day 33

Today I was able to finish, How to Sell Your Art Online:
Live a Successful Creative Life on Your Own Terms by Cory Huff

Brilliant.

Moved on to Seth Godin's
This Is Marketing: You Can't Be Seen Until You Learn to See

I woke up late this morning
7am or so.
Sacrificed a bike ride to optimize my learning potential.
Hence finishing the book.
Still need to meditate.
62 days in a row.
Not gonna miss one.

Was able to engage in compositional activities for about 4.5 hours
The flute work is done
Just needs notated in Sibelius now.
Which is what I spent most of my time on.

Notating contemporary music is a difficult task,
at least in notation software.
No meter or bar-lines makes for difficult editing.
And complex tempo modulations add to it.

Lots of work and creative pursuit accomplished today,
Missed out on a bike ride and a dharma meeting because of it.
I see all these people enjoying their time during the summer.
It reinforces that I'm willing to sacrifice more than the average person to get where I want to go, and then some.
Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.
-Crusty U.S. Marine Proverb
I'm responsible for myself.
I'm willing to pay the full price.

See you tomorrow.
