366 Days of Making Art

Day 56

woke up at 430
stayed in bed till 5am
Coffee
Morning Journal
Read 20 pages of Discipline is Destiny by Ryan Holiday
Meditated 20 minutes
I drank entirely too much coffee today.
layed in bed trying to calm down
took a loooong shower
ate a good breakfast.
Went treasure hunting.
Space is at a premium
Eventually found this rising desk for $25 bucks at goodwill.
I cannot begin to explain how stoaked I was after going all around Boise looking at desks that I would have to buy for 50-75 and then mutilate and modify to work.

And then I found this one.

It looks plain
It is plain.
But the dimensions fit perfectly over the piano without the legs getting in the way.
They stem from the center so the piano stand fits between the base of the legs on the desk,
and yet the keyboard can extend to the edges underneath the desk.

AND IT RAISES AND LOWERS.
It's the perfect drafting table for scores

AND

The perfect standing/seated workstation annex to sit next to my other desk.

I'm so thankful I found this desk.

But I'm also disappointed that my internal state of emotions are so much like this desk,

Rising and Falling at the whim of external factors.

I seek temperament.
Stoic discipline,
an even keel,
and a relentless drive.

Searching for and setting up this beautiful desk took up most of my day.

But I did manage to compose a few satisfying lines of my cello solo.

Lessons with Dr. Ouyang begin on monday!
I'm continuing to take private lessons after I graduate.
Never stop growing.

Off early to get to bed soon.

Must read some of,
The anatomy of a Breakthrough.

See you tomorrow Lovelies.
