366 Days of Making Art

Day 60

Up at 4:45
Coffee
Morning Journal
Read 20 pages from current novel by Ryan Holiday
Mediated 20 minutes.

Then I managed to take a page from every composer's playbook.
I took a walk.
In the morning sun.
And recapped the yesterday's course non-judgmentally.
I evaluated what worked and what didn't.
What I should repeat and what I should do differently,
or not at all.

Back.
Ate breakfast.
Got to work.
Spotty
But work.
4 hours 10am-2pm
Cello Solo.

I put on my meditation app while I worked to detect and notice my own process. To maintain an attitude of mindfulness while I engaged in the process.

Then to BSU to use the printer.

And home to eat and set up my turntable with my new stylus.
Aligned and balanced.
It's probably been a decade since I've used it.

Now posting quickly to get into bed and read and sleep earlier than what has been considered normal for me.

I'm thinking I need to spit my time between working on the instrumental solos for each of the instruments within the symphony orchestra-
And the 'symphony' itself. Though not directly a symphony.
More like Elliot Carter's Symphonium.
8 hours a day is not enough.
Though most creatives stop at around 4 hours.
even Stravinsky.
There's always office work and editing etc.
But most stop the creative rush after 3-5 hours.
Except Picasso.
Picasso's an all day kind of guy.

See you tomorrow lovelies.
